Believe it or not, e-books are rising in popularity. The are a couple advantages to having e-books that doesn't come and will never come with having a hard copy. Same goes the other way though, there are advantages to having a hard copy. What I can tell you is don't be afraid of buying e-books online. Most of the time, the e-books are legitimate books that you can download to your computer.
E-books are written by their authors and displayed for sale on their web site. More often than not, these web site owners are using a third party site to manage the sale of these items. One of the most well known 3rd party sites that people will use is Click-Bank. People often wonder why people do this, why there is a middle man.
Answer is that people looking to run there site online don't want to have to stay behind there computer 24-7 making sure everything is working properly. People want to be able to be out with their families while their businesses continue to run. The whole idea behind an Internet business is financial freedom and unlimited money making opportunities without the hassle of working 80 hours a week.
I actually have an e-book that I will be putting online shortly that has to do with Sciatica. I will be using Click-Bank as well. But, another reason for using these 3rd party sites, is that there are affiliate marketers all over the world that will promote your product for you, for a commission of the sale. You would be able to sell your items and have other people sell your items for you while still making money.
Sounds real easy, right? Not so much. There is so much that goes into Internet Marketing that a lot of people do not take into account. SEO is a very big word amongst Internet Marketers. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Basically, using keywords within your sites to get ranked in Google for. Then setting up back links across the Internet in order to get traffic to your website. This is very possible, probable, and does happen all over the world.
What's the trick then? It's finding the keywords that nobody else is using, but everyone is searching for. When I say keyword, I don't mean just "kite" or "jello." You have to start being more creative with these keywords. So instead of saying just kite, try a specific kite, or kite type. Google has a keyword tool that tells you what words are typed into Google's Search Engine and how often it's searched. It will also tell you what the competition is on those keywords.
Now, if everyone is doing this, what in the world makes you think that you have a chance to rank in Google, get the traffic, and actually sell anything? Well, not everyone has an automatic keyword tool that tells them exactly how many sites are competing for keywords, and what page rank your actually going to be able to obtain with that specific keyword.
