Does Whey Protein Work

If you're not sure what Whey Protein is, please stop, go to the page "What Does Whey Protein Do," before continuing to read here. Information provided here will make more sense after understanding what Whey Protein is and what Whey Protein does.

I want to start with, I absolutely love to work out. In fact, I love it so much, that I could literally spend hours in the gym cause I lose track of time due to the attachment I have to feeling the tight muscle after an intense workout. With loving to tear my body down to build it up, I have been around the block with different protein shakes. I would like to share with you exactly what I've learned from my experience.

First I would like to say that Whey Protein is a great way to recover and can be a great filler for those times you just don't have the time to cook/eat an entire meal for nutrients. But do not think that Whey Protein is the key to results. Whey Protein is just one piece of the puzzle.

When we are physically active our bodies require more of everything. In comparison a person who sits on the couch and doesn't really do much of any physical activity needs less of everything. We need Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Water, Vitamins, Minerals, Fiber, and different forms of Acid. When we look at this list, we see something that stands out above the rest, FAT. We want to get rid of the fat, so why would we take more in?

Answer is simple, there are good fats, and bad fats, but we could go on for awhile about what they both do. Let's focus on the question at hand. Does Whey Protein Work, or doesn't it? Truth is all true whey protein works for your body to provide recovery from your workout. But over the years, through trial and error, I have found that there are protein powders that work significantly better than others.

Bodybuilding.com provides more options than one cares to choose from. Reason being, is your faced with the terrible question, which one is going to give me more bang for my buck? Truth is, no one needs to go through the trial and error method, we just need to know if I'm going to see the results that I want to see as soon as I want to see them. Is this protein supplier's powder going to help me meet my goals when I want to meet them?

I want to be able to help you decide which one is right for you. Bodybuilding.com is a great place to buy from as they have discounts for x amount spent and free gifts for x amount spent that you get to choose from. Keep in mind also that the bigger container you purchase, the cheaper it will be per serving.

Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein

The top seller all over the world for Whey Protein goes to Gold Standard. The best kind of results have been seen with this guy. You can choose flavors in 1 lb., 2 lb., 5 lb., and 10 lb. containers. A word of advice, if your metabolism is high and your trying to gain weight, get a flavor that coincides with a flavor of Powerade or Gatorade, it tastes great and gives you more calories. If your trying to lose weight, get the vanilla and use with either skim milk or water, it's going to be the easiest to swallow in my opinion. 1 lb. is $1.07 per serving and the 10 lb. is $.64 per serving.

A very close second place goes to Muscle Pharm Combat Powder. There is only one down side to this specific brand, and that is it only comes in 4 lb. containers. So if you were looking to have a large supply of Whey Protein before having to purchase more, then you are stuck buying more than one container at a time. But as far as the product itself goes, I can safely give it 5 stars for quality. Price per serving is $.74 on a 4 lb. container.

BSN Syntha-6

The third best seller is not for the faint of heart. This powder here is typically used by the big boys on campus. We have to define our goals for what we're trying to accomplish for ourselves and decide if this really is the route we want to take. Jay Cutler has been known to take BSN products, and he has for years. If you want to attempt to compete with Mr. Olympia, please have at it. Know though, that with any supplementation that you take, be it protein, creatine, fat-burner, your body will need to get used to it, so don't over do it thinking it will provide better results, cause it will only hurt you. Follow the directions on the container to a t and you will be fine. Price per serving is $1.00 for the 2.91 lb. and $.90 for the 5.04 lb. container.

Please consider that these will definitely help you with recovery and muscle building, but they are not absolutely necessary. Find out exactly what you want to accomplish first before going out and spending your money on stuff you will only use a couple times. It's important to know your goals before entering into a world your unfamiliar with and hurt yourself.

I wish you the best of luck in reaching the healthier you!
